作為一部被Ford 收購前由Jaguar自己獨立開發的最後一款汽車，採用更多新科技改進。更是至今第二長壽的XJ系列，共17年生產周期。設計上用上VCM 真空螢光顯示的自我檢查系統。用上自家製直六機器並有傳啲XJ40車身設計上為了避免Rover V8 引擎安裝而設計。這台XJ40最終於1993年獲得”英國最安全汽車”稱號。

今次引入為尾期XJ40 採用”四圓燈”設計。屬於3.2 Sport 系列，採用3.2L 直六機器，配上S系列玫瑰木內飾，更寬闊既輪軚。順帶一提，Sport 系列XJ40 生產周期只有一年，相對罕有。

As the last car independently developed by Jaguar before being acquired by Ford, it incorporates more new technology improvements. It is also the second longest-lasting model in the XJ series, with a total production cycle of 17 years. The design features a VCM vacuum fluorescent display self-check system. It uses a proprietary straight-six engine and has a body design derived from the XJ40 to accommodate the installation of the Rover V8 engine. This XJ40 ultimately received the title of "Britain's Safest Car" in 1993.

This introduction features the late-stage XJ40 with a "four-lamp" design. It belongs to the 3.2 Sport series, utilizing a 3.2L straight-six engine, complemented by S-series rosewood interior trim and wider wheels. It is worth mentioning that the Sport series XJ40 had a production cycle of only one year, making it relatively rare.
